Four women charged with assault

PANJIM: The Women police have charged four women with allegedly threatening and physically hurting a lady. The FIR against Poonam Pilarnkar, Sonia Pilarnkar, Jayashri Naik and an unknown lady, all residents of Britona was registered based on a complaint filed by Disha Harmalkar alleging the crime.

The application filed on February 17 has accused the foursome of stopping the complainant when she was enroute to her work place after dropping her child at a school in Porvorim. “The incident happened on February 03, 2017 at 08.05 AM when I was on my scooter. They came, stopped me, abused me and removed my scarf. They also assaulted me… One of them recorded the video and it is circulated all over on Whatsap ad Facebook,” reads the complaint copy.

Police Inspector Sudiksha Naik who is investigating the case has registered an offense under sections 341 (wrongful restrain), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 323 (causing hurt) and 34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
