Frequent power cuts; Cuncolkars serve ultimatum

CUNCOLIM: Cuncolkars have decided to raise their voice against the frequent power supply in Cuncolim and have given a 15-day ultimatum to Power Department to put things in order to get undisturbed power.

CUNCOLIM: Cuncolkars have decided to raise their voice against the frequent power supply in Cuncolim and have given a 15-day ultimatum to Power Department to put things in order to get undisturbed power.

For the past one week, the problem of power failure has gone out of hand and despite repeated requests the department had failed to fix the problem, locals told Herald. 

Because of the frequent power failure and subsequent voltage fluctuation many complain that their electrical gadgets have been damaged and locals and shop owners have suffered heavy losses. Bakery business and those selling frozen products too was affected due to regular power failure and voltage problem. 

Besides, it is also wedding season and Christmas festivities too will begin soon. 

A ship owner told Herald that if you call the local power office that say there is mistake with the main line. One officer of Power Department said the problem was due to weak power lines and some transformers were also in need urgent repair.
