PONDA: Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) has condemned the BJP for “stooping too low” for retaining power.

Addressing a press conference here, GSM Vice President Govind Dev and Secretary Harshad Devari said that their part would launch an agitation from November for the protection of democracy and dissolution of the Assembly.

“BJP fears of defeat at polls, hence resorting to horse-trading in to maintain its majority,” Dev said and ridiculed the claim by Subash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte that they resigned and joined to BJP for development of their respective constituencies. “Their claims are totally false. Both of them joined BJP for selfish motives and personal gains,” he said.

Dev also criticised MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar and Goa Forward leader Vijay Sardesai for supporting the BJP for their “personal gains.”

He claimed that the BJP core committee office bearers upset at the entry of Shirodkar and Sopte; however, they are helpless before their top, hence remain silent.

Meanwhile, Dev threatened to file a petition before Lokayukth praying for an inquiry into a deal the government has struck with the former Shiroda BJP MLA for purchasing his land for Rs 60 crore. He said that the government has not disclosed the purpose.

for which it is purchasing the land.
