Grocery store gutted in fire at Thivim

MAPUSA: A grocery store located at Madel Thivim caught fire causing loss of Rs 70,000 to its owner.

MAPUSA: A grocery store located at Madel Thivim caught fire causing loss of Rs 70,000 to its owner.

According to Mapusa fire office, on receiving a call at 6.28 pm about the fire incident, a fire force team rushed at the spot and dosed the fire.

The fire office said that the shop was owned by one Prasad Aroskar. Grocery and electronic items were destroyed in the fire triggered by short circuit.

The following fire personnel put out the fire: Sub Officer Shivraj Naik, leading fire fighter Anand Naik, Swapnesh Korgaonkar, Dilip Sawant, Santosh Tanodi and Ashok Volvoikar.
