PORVORIM: Goa Governor Dr Mridula Sinha emphasised on the government’s commitment towards creating increasing job opportunities, improving infrastructure and housing for all.

“In order to create more and more job opportunities to Goan youth, government will bring new environment friendly industries while expanding and upgrading the existing public sector units in the State,” she told the House on Thursday.

She also said that the government’s vision is to ensure a steady flow of skilled workforce to different sectors of industry by imparting skill training and entrepreneurship skills to youth.

The Governor claimed that the government will ensure 24X7 quality power and water supply, create proper network of roads, and construct roads in every village and locality where needed.

On schemes, she said, “Government will ensure that benefits are received by only genuine and deserving beneficiaries and will ensure special concern to overall welfare of SC, ST, OBC, minorities, women, children, specially abled persons and all other underprivileged sections and will try to go to the doorsteps of each and every individual while maintaining communal harmony of which Goa is known for.”

As she spelt out a number of welfare schemes initiated by the BJP-led government, including the Dayanand Social Security, Griha Aadhar, Laadli Laxmi, Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojna, etc, the Governor remarked that government is still not self-satisfied with these achievements.
