Haryana native held with ganja

MAPUSA: Calangute police on Sunday morning arrested one Haryana native, Surender Singh, 23 years with ganja at Calangute.

MAPUSA: Calangute police on Sunday morning arrested one Haryana native, Surender Singh, 23 years with ganja at Calangute.

According to Calangute police, a patrol team found the accused, a native of Faridabad, Haryana moving suspiciously near Bandokdkar statue in Calangute early morning on Sunday. When the accused noticed the police, he tried to run away, but police team chased and arrested him.

The accused was found in possession of 39 grams of ganja worth Rs 7,000 and confessed that the ganja in his possession was for sale. 

The team, headed by PI Jivba Dalvi, consisted of PSI Mahesh Naik, PC Priyankesh Shetye, Raju Mandrekar and Siddesh Gawandi.

Meanwhile, earlier on Saturday, Pernem police arrested a Nigerian national, Obajulu Spadni with 17 grams of ganja. The accused is presently residing at Bhatwai, Corgao. Pernem police found the Nigerian national sitting in restaurant at Arambol suspiciously and on conducting a personal search found the ganja in his possession.
