Hubli-Chennai direct train launched

MARGAO: South Western Railways is launching a new train from Hubli to Chennai which will be a direct overnight train aimed to benefit the people of Dharwad, Hubli, Gadag, Ballari who wanted a direct train to Chennai.

This bi weekly train will proceed from Hubli to Chennai Central via Gadag, Ballari, Guntakal and Renigunta and will be officially flagged off on 14th September 14 at 4 pm by union minister Pralhad Joshi and minister of state Suresh Channabasappa Angadi.

The actual operation of the train will start on 17th September from Hubballi where the train will depart at 9:05 pm and will depart from Chennai Central on 18th September at 10:50 am. This train will leave from Hubli every Tuesday and Friday and from Chennai Central every Wednesday and Saturday.

The train will have one AC 2-tier coach, two AC 3-tier coaches, six second class sleeper coaches, six general second class coaches and two second class coaches besides a luggage cum brake van.
