Jayesh visits housing board plots at Shristal, listens to grievances
CANACONA: Housing Minister Jayesh Salgaonkar along with local MLA Isidor Fernandes visited the housing board plots site at Shristal, Batpal in Canacona and listened to the grievances of people who had applied for plots way back in 1989 but later said that he could not commit anything due to code of conduct being in force.

CANACONA: Housing Minister Jayesh Salgaonkar along with local MLA Isidor Fernandes visited the housing board plots site at Shristal, Batpal in Canacona and listened to the grievances of people who had applied for plots way back in 1989 but later said that he could not commit anything due to code of conduct being in force.
On the application of 67 locals for plots under Goa Housing Board (GHB) scheme, the GHB had acquired land from a private party, demarcated roads and drains and subdivided the land into 98. Of these 98 plots, 10 were sold by auction a few years back, the applicants were advised by the GHB to deposit Rs 6500 on two different occasions.
Even after doing a lot of correspondence with the GHB, the applicants till now haven’t got any allotment of the plots promised. Later, on the assurance made by him to a question raised by the local MLA, Salgaonkar visited the site of the demarcated plots and listened to the points raised by the aggrieved applicants.
However, due to the election code of conduct in place, he said that he would study the matter once the election process gets over.
Salgaonkar was accompanied by Goa Forward senior leaders Prashant Naik and Mohandas Lolienkar, incidentally both from Canacona Taluka, and housing board official Arvind Patil.
