PANJIM: Minister and Porvorim legislator Rohan Khaunte has expressed his utter dissatisfaction over the ongoing work of underground cabling in his constituency as he raised his concern with Power Minister Nilesh Cabral.

“I’m dissatisfied with the works of the underground cabling undertaken by the present contractors. We needed to convey our sentiments and get things right. The work, kept in distorted manner without its completion before the monsoon is not appreciable. I have discussed this matter with the power minister,” he told reporters, a day after holding a meeting with Cabral and officials concerned to review the ongoing work and the power cuts.

“The first day of the rains gave us problems… there was electricity problem for 10 hours in my constituency. We have to ensure it does not reoccur,” the minister added while also appreciating efforts by Cabral to “restructure the department and put it right”.

Khaunte also took to Twitter speaking about undergoing cabling and assuring to address it in a time bound manner. “Also reviewed power cuts faced during monsoons and have asked to implement appropriate measures to curb the same in my constituency,” his post reads.
