CANACONA: Canacona MLA Isidore Fernandes unfurled the national flag and later inspected the parade which was lead by Police Sub-Inspector Prashal Desai and took a salute from the police parade team on Wednesday in Canacona. 

On arrival at the headquarters of the taluka administration at Chaudi in Canacona, the local MLA Isidore Fernandes was escorted by Deputy Collector Raju Desai, Mamlatdar Raghuraj Desai and Police Inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai to the dais.

Later, the MLA unfurled the national flag as the students of Jawahar Navodaya School sang the national anthem. After unfurling the tricolor, the MLA inspected the parade lead by PSI Prashal Desai and took a salute from the police team.

On the occasion, Fernandes exhorted the students of the various schools present to work hard and sincerely to make the dream of the founding fathers of modern India into a reality to make India a superpower in immediate future.

He highlighted the various infrastructural works he undertook after being elected the MLA of Canacona over a year back and pledged to upgrade medical facilities, roads, water supply and to make Canacona taluka a quality tourist destination, and urged everyone to work united for overall development of the taluka.
