The MMC in a public notice has intimated the fees for transfer of house tax is revised from Rs 1000 to Rs 3000 for the first transfer and from Rs 2000 to Rs 6000 for the second transfer. The revised rates have been put to immediate effect by the MMC. Former chairperson Savio Cutinho has called this yet another ‘surgical strike’ on the loyal tax payers in MMC jurisdiction. “Another unjustified attack on the loyal taxpayer/ legally assessed premises. 200% increase in the house Tax transfer fees. But the lack of will to tap the unassessed premises remains unchanged,” Savio said.
