MAPUSA: Former chairman of Mapusa Urban Co-operative Bank of Goa Ltd (MUCB), Ramakant Khalap has categorically denied and denounced the false propaganda unleashed by people that he and his family members have withdrawn huge amounts from their accounts.

“These allegations are figments of imagination of crooked minds. None of our members have withdrawn any amount from their individual or joint accounts since the embargo was imposed three years ago. We have authorised the general manager Shailendra Sawant to part with certified statements of our bank transactions for the last three years to anyone interested in ascertaining the status of our accounts," Khalap said in a press statement on Monday.

"My life is an open book and I would gladly share details of my financial transactions with anyone. I request people not to believe such rumours spread by people having vested interests to malign my name and reputation,” he added.
