Man booked for murder in Calangute, absconding
MAPUSA: The Calangute Police filed a case against one Joseph Ismail Sequiera, 25, from Candolim following the murder of one Tyron Nazareth, 52, resident of Calangute.
MAPUSA: The Calangute Police filed a case against one Joseph Ismail Sequiera, 25, from Candolim following the murder of one Tyron Nazareth, 52, resident of Calangute. The incident happened in the fish market on Saturday night around 11.30 pm. Sequiera has been absconding since then. A police team has been formed to trace Sequiera. The victim died on the way while being taken to hospital. Police rushed to the spot and immediately registered a case of attempt to murder but later when the victim succumbed, the cops added section 302 IPC.
PI Jivba Dalvi said the motive was revenge and old rivalry. Both Nazareth and the accused are history-sheeters and two months back, Nazareth along with his friend had attacked Joseph Ismail Sequiera.
Accordingly, the police had had arrested both Sequiera and Nazareth. Nazareth was released on June 20. PI Jivba Dalvi is investigating the case under supervision of SDPO Serafin Dias & SP North Goa Kartik Kashyap.
