VASCO: Kenneth Silveira, who was arrested for a Facebook post against the Chief Minister of Goa, has served a defamation notice demanding Rs 5 crores in damages from the Government of Goa.

In his notice, Kenneth has maintained that his arrest was abuse of power, hence, illegal.

Silveira says that the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is taking things personal, due to which numerous complaints have been filed against him (Silveira). “The Crime Branch is investigating a non-existent complaint against me which is proven by its own information provided under RTI,” Silveira said.

He also said that he was told that his private complaint won’t be entertained, but that similar complaints against him were accepted.
