Mapusa police yet to nab Guirim assault accused

MAPUSA: Despite registering a case, the Mapusa police have failed to arrest the accused involved in the assault on a Guirim resident. According to the complainant, Casper D’Souza aged 45, resident of Guirim in his complaint to the Mapusa police stated that his friend Zuber Solanki from Mumbai and two other came to his residence at Guirim and assaulted him with metal rod and robbed gold chain worth Rs 2.60 lakh, gold bracelet worth 1.60 lakh and Rs 14, 600 in cash at knife point.

MAPUSA: Despite registering a case, the Mapusa police have  failed to arrest the accused involved in the assault on a Guirim resident.

According to the complainant, Casper D’Souza aged 45, resident of Guirim in his complaint to the Mapusa police stated that his friend Zuber Solanki from Mumbai and two other came to his residence at Guirim and assaulted him with metal rod and robbed gold chain worth Rs 2.60 lakh, gold bracelet worth 1.60 lakh and Rs 14, 600 in cash at knife point.

Acting on the complaint, Mapusa police on February 24 registered a case under sections 341, 324, 452, 506, 394, r/w 34 IPC and PSI Yogesh Gadkar is IO. The case is pending since last one month and the police according to the complainant are giving him vague excuses.

The complainant sustained injuries to his head, legs and back. He was referred to the District hospital at Mapusa and later after recovering he went to the Mapusa police station and registered his complaint.
