The association has demanded that the MMC withdraw the resolution in the upcoming ordinary meeting. The chairperson said that the resolution allowing sales was taken by the previous council lead by Rajendra Ajgaonkar.

“We have been consistently cheated by the MMC for years and now this is the last time we demand a resolution stopping all exhibitions cum sales in Margao. If the demand is not fulfilled we won't gherao any more. We will resort to a big agitation,” said Market Vendors Association President Vinod Shirodkar.

"The vendors in the exhibition cum sale are looting people and this should stop immediately," said Babu Ajgaonkar.

"The resolution allowing these sales was taken by one of the previous council lead by Rajendra Ajgaonkar and in fact we have diluted the resolution by regulations on the sales. But if they insist we will move a resolution," said Arthur.
