Mhadei verdict is victory for Goa: Vijai
MARGAO: Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardessai said the verdict of the Mhadei Tribunal was a victory for Goa and reiteration of the State’s stand and further said the reaction of Karnataka government and chief minister was an indication that it was a loss to that State.

MARGAO: Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardessai said the verdict of the Mhadei Tribunal was a victory for Goa and reiteration of the State’s stand and further said the reaction of Karnataka government and chief minister was an indication that it was a loss to that State.
Speaking to media persons, he said that though the verdict may not have granted everything that Goa had asked for, it has by and large upheld Goa’s stand and prohibited Karnataka from transferring the water from Mhadei basin to Malaprabha basin.
“Our main demand was that water should not be transferred to Mhadei basin to another basin and that has been upheld,” he said while thanking all those who fought the battle including the legal team.
“We have to accept the verdict even though it is not to our expectations,” he said while stating that it was for the people to decide whether the glass of water is half full or half empty.
