PANJIM: Congress on Monday showered praises on ex-CM and BJP leader Laxmikant Parsekar stating that he has shown boldness to expose the truth in mining lease renewal scam.

“We appreciate ex-CM Parsekar for showing boldness and exposing the truth in the mining lease renewal scam,” AICC secretary and Goa desk in-charge A Chella Kumar said.

The senior Congress leader was referring to an affidavit submitted before the Lokayukta by Parsekar in the 88 mining leases renewal case. “Parsekar has shown boldness by exposing his own party. He has shown gratitude for Goa,” the senior Congress leader added.

“Parrikar had wrongly branded Congress in the mining case by quoting figure of Rs 35,000 crore,” Chellakumar alleged.
