MARGAO: The minor boy arrested by Margao police last Monday for housebreaking and theft has since then confessed to committing various crimes including thefts at Atul Kamat’s house at Pajifond and Anthony Rebello’s house at Comba. 

The lad who had escaped from Apna Ghar hails from Mumbai and had fled to Pune where he was also involved in thefts and was arrested and sent to Apna Ghar there. 

However, he escaped from there and came to Goa where he befriended some other thieves and formed a gang. The gang specialized in breaking into houses with tiled roofs and was nabbed by the Panjim police and they were sent to the Apna Ghar from where they escaped some three months back. 

Since then, they would operate in Margao and retire to a rented house at Curchorem. The arrested minor has not only confessed to the thefts but also revealed the identity of the other members who are still absconding and police are looking out for them.
