Mohta, Reis appointed as senior advocates by SC
PANJIM: The Supreme Court of India on Saturday has appointed former Chief Justices/Judges of High Courts, including Justices Anoop V Mohta and Filomeno Manuel Reis, along with 23 others as Senior Advocates under Section 16(2) of the Advocates Act, 1961.
The decision of appointing 25 former Chief Justices/Judges of High Courts to Senior Advocates was taken during the full court meeting of the Supreme Court of India on Sept 6.
Mohta and Reis both had retired from Bombay High Court on December 3, 2017 and August 9, 2017 respectively.
