MARGAO: Following an application moved by Suresh Solanki for becoming an approver and praying for pardon, Additional Sessions Judge II Sayonora Telles Laad posted the trial against Kalpana Barki and four others for murder to September 24.

Suresh Solanki who is the accused number 2 in the matter has made an application to be made an approver and hence be pardoned as an accomplice in the crime where Kalpana’s husband Basuraj alias Basu Barki was murdered.

Kalpana along with four other persons including Suresh killed Basuraj at their flat on the second floor of a building at Bebquegal in Curchorem on April 2 at around 2 pm and later chopped his body into small pieces to fit into rice bags and went around throwing the body parts at different places near Doodsagar.

The murder came to light when the wife of another accused Abdul Karim Shaikh disclosed the facts to one Usha Dyekar who accordingly lodged a complaint with the police who after investigating the matter also recovered some parts of the body although they were decomposed.
