Murder accused nabbed at Dabolim
VASCO: In a well planned joint operation, the Vasco police and their Maharashtra counterparts on Friday nabbed one Harichander Dadasaheb Kharat (32) at Dabolim who had allegedly murdered his paramour Chandana Vitthal Kharat at Bhid in Malegaon, on October 7.
VASCO: In a well planned joint operation, the Vasco police and their Maharashtra counterparts on Friday nabbed one Harichander Dadasaheb Kharat (32) at Dabolim who had allegedly murdered his paramour Chandana Vitthal Kharat at Bhid in Malegaon, on October 7.
The Vasco police team consisted of PI Nolasco Raposo, Head Constable Santosh Bhatkar and Constable Sachin Bandekar, while the Maharashtra team was lead by PSI A T Malusare of Chaklamba Police Station, Bhid.
According to Vasco police, the accused had initially murdered the victim at Bhid, and thereafter set her on fire and had thrown her body in a well around 500 metres away from the murder scene.
After the murder, the accused had fled to Rajasthan and later came to Goa on October 18. He was working as labourer at a construction site at Dabolim on October 19 when he was nabbed in the joint operation.
“The accused was found in possession of the silver and gold jewellery of the victim. After the arrest of the accused, Chaklamba police left for Bhid on Friday,” PI Nolasco Raposo told Herald.
