PANJIM: Muslims across Goa on Monday celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with morning prayers; it is an important festival for the Muslims as it marks the end of the Ramzan month, with sighting of the new Moon.

PANJIM: Muslims across Goa on Monday celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with morning prayers; it is an important festival for the Muslims as it marks the end of the Ramzan month, with sighting of the new Moon. 

Eid prayers were held from 9 am in the Jama Masjid while in the Inam complex prayers were held at 8.30 am on Monday morning.

Eid-ul-Fitr is a very important festival of Muslims.

In Curchorem, Eid was celebrated by the Muslims at Jamiya Masjid, Carriamoddi-Curchorem on Monday.

The devotees including children were gathered in large numbers at the masjid and offered the morning prayers and celebrated the festival with festive fervour.

After namaz was over, as per the old rich tradition, people hugged each other with cries of “Eid Mubarak”. Members of other community were also participated in exchanging the greetings.
