MARGAO: Congress Lok Sabha candidate for South Goa Francisco Sardinha on Tuesday clarified that his remarks were misinterpreted and misrepresented on social media and termed such attempts as “cheap tricks” only to malign his image. 

When media persons sought his views on how AAP will fare in the election, he said, "People who are wise will never vote for AAP because AAP is B-team of BJP". 

To a question with regards to AAP and its impact, Sardinha said, "Yesterday I met someone, sir he said what you think people are mad. Instead of voting for AAP it is better to vote for BJP, at least the vote will be acknowledged. These people have not even one per cent chance of winning, so why should anybody vote for such party". 

He said he was surprised by the people’s statements. 

A misrepresented and only a part of the clip went viral on social media in South Goa, which gave an impression that Sardinha urged for votes for the BJP. Sardinha said the Congress is going to win the South Goa election.
