MARGAO: A portion of the newly commissioned Arlem-Borim road dangerously caved in at Ambora stretch on Thursday. The photograph of this incident went viral on social media platforms wherein people questioned the quality and planning of the work that has been executed here.

Similar condition has risen on the Raia-Borim road stretch wherein the road has sunk and is posing danger to the traffic on this road.

The newly built Ponda-Margao road caving in within just 20 days of rain is serious. “They are playing with the lives of people and spending tax-payers money for it. Will the contractor and the PWD engineer be held accountable for this?” asked Swapnesh Naik, a daily traveler on this route.

Some locals have claimed that this is the fall out of failed road engineering and the absence of provision for water seepage during showers.
