MAPUSA: Mapusa police arrested a Nigerian with ganja worth Rs 90,000, in a raid conducted on Tuesday between 12 noon to 2 pm.

The arrested Nigerian is identified as Goodluck Lucky John (41).

The raid was conducted after the police received tipoff that the Nigerian would be coming to sell ganja to prospective customers near ferry point at Pomburpa in Aldona. Accordingly, a police team was dispatched to the place where it arrested John.

During personal search, the Nigerian was found in illegal possession of drug substances suspected to be ganja worth Rs 90,000.

The accused is booked under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act.

The raiding team consisted of PSI Vijaykumar Chodankar, PSI Elidio Fernandes, PC Rupesh Korgaonkar, Ranganath Gaonkar, Vishnu Haldankar and Devanand Gawade. PSI Elidio is investigating.
