PANJIM: Despite claiming that the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s health was stable the BJP legislature wing went into a huddle raising several questions.

The CM arrived in the State on Sunday and ever since there have been several rumours on social media on his health and the prevailing political situation in the State.

The Chief Minister’s office issued a statement this morning that he is stable and responding to treatment.

“CM Manohar Parrikar's condition has improved further. He had a chat with his family members Monday morning. Doctors have advised him to take rest for a week time,” said Rupesh Kamat, PS to CM in a statement here.

Later, State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar and Sadanand Shet Tanawde met CM at his residence Monday morning.

“CM was watching news on TV when I went,” informed Tendulkar.

“He is under doctor’s observation and is continuing to rest,” he added.

New CM will be from BJP cadre

The BJP party bosses in Goa have informed the legislatures that the new chief minister would be from the 13 BJP MLAs.

“The party’s national president is very much interested in Goa and has been inquiring about the development every now and then,” said a source who attended the legislature party wing meeting.

The sources said that the BJP MLAs have been informed that the new CM will be from within the party.

“A final decision though would be taken by the party high command,” sources revealed.
