PANJIM: The Forest department on Monday denied the social media news of leopard sitting at National Highway-17 at Guirim on Saturday evening. 

Range Forest Officer (RFO) Paresh Parab has said that the social media post showing leopard sitting on pipeline at Guirim as false and that the pictures are from Aarey colony in Mumbai. 

The forest department has urged public not to misuse social media to spread wrong information and create fear among people. 

The photos and video of the leopard sitting at Guirim had gone viral on social media.
