PANJIM: The Director of Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media (DCSCM) Fr Olavo Caiado said that no meeting between Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Archbishop Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao has taken place so far with regards to beefing up security measures around churches in Goa, following the serial blasts in some churches in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning.

“We wish to clarify that no such meeting between the Chief Minister and the Archbishop has taken place so far, nor have the two authorities spoken on the telephone”, Fr Caiado said in a press release.

He was reacting to news reports circulated in the local and national media that the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant, had stated on Sunday that he would be talking to the Archbishop of Goa, Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao, regarding beefing up security measures around churches in Goa, following the serial blasts that took place in some churches in Sri Lanka on Sunday morning. Some media even reported on Monday that Dr Sawant had already met or spoken to the Archbishop in this connection.
