No replacement named for ailing CM to lay foundations in 4 places

Ministers to conduct ceremonies on Thursday in South Goa ‘under the visionary guidance of Parrikar’

PANJIIM: With Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar bed-ridden as treatment for his ailment continues at his private residence in Dona Paula, the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation – aware about his health condition -- has not named any chief guest for the foundation stone lying ceremonies scheduled at four different places on Thursday. 

The invites sent across to media houses for coverage, has mentioned that the ceremonies will be held ‘under visionary guidance of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.’ The functions at Collem, Sanvordem and Kirlapal-Dabal will see ‘distinguished presence of’ different ministers at each site, GSIDC Chairman Deepak Pauskar and Vice President Siddharth Kunkalienkar and respective village panchayats. 

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has been invited for the foundation stone laying ceremony for new health centre at Collem whereas beautification of a road from Sanvordem circle to Capxem and construction of new by-pass road from Ambeudak, Sanvordem to Devnamol, Kallem will have the presence of PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavlikar and Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho will remain present for the laying of foundation stone of new panchayat building, Kalay. 

Pauskar, when contacted by Herald, said the laying of foundation stones will be carried out by the respective ministers instead of CM. “We know that CM won’t attend the foundation stone laying ceremonies as he is under medical treatment. As such, the ministers concerned will do the needful,” he said.
