Team Herald

SANGUEM: The offices of Sanguem Deputy Collector and Mamlatdar have been hit due to staff shortage.

Since its inauguration over a year ago, of the Deputy Collector’s Office is functioning with just three staff, which has severely affected the routine functioning and other administrative work.

The office merely functions with the assistance of just one Aval Karkun and two subordinate staff members. It is pertinent to note that the Deputy Collector’s office besides dealing with the law and order problem also handle matters pertaining to illegal conversions, encroachments, partition, amalgamation, other land-related matters and criminal matters filed by the police. Residents are forced to make several trips to the office to get their work done.

Deputy Collector Ajay Gaude is making efforts to ease public woes, but the staff crunch has limited his performance.

Meanwhile, for several months, the Sanguem Mamlatdar office has been functioning with one lady mamlatdar as it’s been four months since the main mamlatdar has proceeded on sick leave.  The post of the third mamlatdar is vacant for over six months.

In the absence of the two mamlatdars, the work of three mamlatdars is carried out by lone mamlatdar, which has affected the day-to-day functioning.

The worst affected are the people who have applied for mutation as they have been waiting for quite some time to get their names entered in the survey records of the properties purchased by them.
