BICHOLIM: The onset of monsoon has restored the lost glory of the famous Harvalem waterfall, which had run dry during the summer.

The rapturous sight of the waterfall, which is now in full flow, has been attracting tourists and locals as well.

It may be recalled that the Harvelem waterfall for the first time in many years had run dry during the summer. The locals had blamed the mining companies for stopping water pumping operations at their pits, which resulted in the waterfall running dry. The tourists visiting the site were left disappointed to witness a ‘dry’ site.

Following this, the local MLA

held meetings with the officials of the mining companies to help restore the waterfall’s lost glory. Now, with the arrival of the monsoon, the waterfall is in full flow providing a spectacular sight to the visitors.

“With the arrival of monsoons, the waterfall is in full flux. With incessant rains in the days to come, the site will attract more tourists,” Sagar Parwar a Harvalem resident informed.
