PORVORIM: There are 19,362 students who will appear for the Class X Goa Board examinations across 27 centres. As compared to last year there has been a significant drop in the number of students by 1444.
Speaking to Herald, Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary (GBSHSE), Chairperson, Jose Rebello said, “All information regarding the examinations, be it time table, centres is available at the Goa Board website. We are in the process of upgrading the website for better user experience as currently the website is static and this year the board is preparing to announce the results of Class XII by April last week instead of first week of May. This year there will be special sign language communicators for special children at exam centres in Ponda and Porvorim.”
“The examination will be conducted across 27 centres namely Bicholim, Calangute, Canacona, Cuncolim, Churchorem, Duler, Quepem, Mandrem, Mangueshi, Mapusa, Marcela, Margao, Mashem, Navelim, Panjim, Pilar, Ponda, Porvorim, Sanguem, Sanquelim, Shiroda, Siolim, Tisk/Dharbandora, Valpoi, Vasco and Verna. All the seat numbers as per centres have already been uploaded on the website for student reference and if the students have any queries they can contact the helpline number which has been launched by the board,” said a GBSHSE official.
The official further said, “As per the new circular students answering the Class X and Class XII public exams will not be allowed to change their examination centre from March 2017 as it often leads to confusion. The Goa Board Class X examination will commence on April 1 and will end on April 10 for regular students while April 15 for pre-vocational course students and April 21 for special children.”
