Police complaint filed against FDA officials

MARGAO: Fatorda activist and whistleblower Sanjeev Raiturkar filed a police complaint under Section 269 and 290 of IPC against FDA official Rajaram Patil and other FDA officers on duty at the Polem check post on August 8 for deliberate negligence and inaction.

 “FDA is playing with the life of people. The FDA officials have compromised on public health”, accused Sanjeev. He informed that he has submitted complaints to the Canacona Police station, Director General of Police and the Chief Secretary.

 “They have violated our Constitutional Rights under Article 19 and 21, that is freedom of press and freedom of an individual to speak,” he said. He also demanded the resignation of the Director of FDA and Health Minister, and also requested the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to hand over the investigation of the formalin in fish case to CBI.
