Police custody of Naik sisters extended
PANJIM: The District & Session Court has extended the police custody of Yogita Naik, 26, and Chaitali Naik, 22, by another day, while their father Santosh Naik – arrested on Thursday – has been sent to one day police custody in connection with the drug seizure earlier this week.

Both sisters were arrested on Tuesday for possession of drugs worth Rs 16 lakh. Their house in Khorlim-Mapusa and the grocery shop, from where they were picked, were raided by the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) team. A police official said that the duo has applied for bail.
On Friday, their father, who allegedly has a criminal background, was also arrested for abetting the crime.
