COLVA: The traditional Fama of Menino Jesus at Our Lady of Merces Church, Colva was celebrated with pomp and gaiety on Monday.

Parish priest Fr Simpliciano Fernandes was the main celebrant for the high Mass besides other concelebrants.

Stressing on the life of Jesus in his homily, Fr Simpliciano said, “Jesus died for us on the Cross to save us from sins and provide us with a better life.” 

He said Colvakars have privilege of celebrating Fama as Colva is the only place where it is celebrated.

He said Jesus is the lighthouse and provides light to those in the darkness. 

Urging the faithful to have concern towards others, he called upon them to forgive each other and propagate the Good News to others and be merciful, carry one’s Cross in life with love and patience and serve others.

Colva police led by PI Philomena D’Costa ensured the smooth flow of traffic during the fama.
