PANJIM: The State Election Commission (SEC) on Thursday announced April 29 and May 6 as election dates for the Ponda and Sanquelim Municipal Councils respectively. The counting is scheduled on May 7.

Ponda Municipal Council with 15 wards will vote on April 29. The process of filing nominations begins on April 6 and will go on till April 13, except April 8 being Sunday. Scrutiny of nominations will be on April 16 and last date of withdrawal on April 17.

In the case of Sanquelim Municipal Council, having 13 wards, voting will take place on May 6 and the process of filing nominations will be held between April 12 and 20, except April 14 and 15 being public holidays. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 21 and withdrawals on April 25.
