Poor response for special postal ballot camps

PANJIM: The special facilitation camp organized by the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) for postal ballots of government servants and police personnel received a poor response with 1210 casting their votes on Saturday. Of the total 15,590 postal ballots, CEO has till date received only 8470 ballots.

PANJIM: The special facilitation camp organized by the Chief Electoral Office (CEO) for postal ballots of government servants and police personnel received a poor response with 1210 casting their votes on Saturday. Of the total 15,590 postal ballots, CEO has till date received only 8470 ballots.

Government employees, who were deployed on election duty, have till the morning of March 11 to send their postal ballot. Nearly 7120 postal ballots are yet to be received. 

As per information available from the respective district administration, in the North 700 postal ballots were received on Saturday taking the tally to 2760 from the district. There are total 8,469 postal ballots in North Goa. 

In the case of South Goa, 510 postal ballots were cast on Saturday. The district has 9,121 postal ballots of which till date 5710 have been cast. The elections were held on February 4 and the counting will take place on March 11.
