PANJIM: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday declared the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 results after the Supreme Court of India lifted the ban imposed by the Madras High Court.

It is another proud moment for Goa’s Pratheek Rebello, a student of Mustifund Aryans HSS, who secured an all India rank of 189 at NEET out of the 11 lakh students that appeared for the exam across the country.

20 students from Mustifund Aryans HSS and 13 from PACE Dempo HSS have secured scores of 390 and above.

Last week the Supreme Court of India had set aside the order by Madras High Court staying the declaration of results and had directed the CBSE to declare the NEET 2017 results by June 26.

The wait for the results had been a long drawn one for the aspiring students waiting to take admissions at medical institutions across the country. The results were earlier scheduled to be declared on June 8 but were delayed after the Madras HC stayed the declaration on a plea alleging lack of uniformity in the question paper.

CBSE had also clarified that the decision to set papers in different languages was meant as a safety precaution to avoid conducting the entire examination if a particular paper is leaked.
