RP 2030 will be drafted: Vijai

PANJIM: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday announced to draft the Regional Plan 2030 for Goa, pending finalisation of which the government will take up proposals for conversion on a case-to-case basis.

PANJIM: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vijai Sardesai on Thursday announced to draft the Regional Plan 2030 for Goa, pending finalisation of which the government will take up proposals for conversion on a case-to-case basis.

The minister said that TCP Department has discontinued the process of change in zone since 2005, except for government proposals under Section 16A of the TCP Act, 1974. Since 2012 till date, nearly 43.55 lakh sq mtrs of land have been converted for various government projects. 

Replying to a question tabled by Leader of the Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar, Sardesai said the government intends to prepare RP for Goa for the horizon year 2030. “The process and procedure along with the policies to be adopted such as Transfer of Development Rights, etc, for the preparation of RP 2030 are under finalisation,” the Minister said.
