Raj Bhavan goes cashless

In a step towards encouraging State’s government’s move of becoming the

 

cashless

 society, the

Raj Bhavan went cashless on Monday in their day-to-day expenditures.

The Goa Governor Mridula Sinha launched Cashless Raj Bhavan for petty day-to-day household purchases/day-to-day expenditure.

A bank account for Raj Bhavan has been opened with State Bank of India, Dona Paula Branch, in the name of Comptroller of Governor’s Household, through which the purchases will be made after swiping the issued Debit Card on the POS system, for various day-to-day purchases.

The staff and residents of Raj Bhavan were also trained by the SBI on the usage of ATMs, the options that can be availed through an ATM and the security aspect of cashless transactions, on February, 2017.

The Governor in the past has lauded the initiative undertaken by the State government by stating that cashless transactions will make India corruption and black money free. She had even urged the people to give in their full commitment to encourage State dream of cashless society.

Several departments like tourism, panchayat, excise, commercial, Entertainment Society of Goa (EGS) were the first to go cashless.
