Reclassification of Betalbatim, Nuvem wards irks aspirants
MARGAO: The reclassification of wards in Nuvem and Betalbatim has eliminated quite a few aspirants from the fray in the two villages.
In ward No. 10 of Nuvem which has been classified as a general ward now will have outgoing panchayat member Bernado Fernandes
MARGAO: The reclassification of wards in Nuvem and Betalbatim has eliminated quite a few aspirants from the fray in the two villages.
In ward No. 10 of Nuvem which has been classified as a general ward now will have outgoing panchayat member Bernado Fernandes contesting against Peter Fernandes who had both filed their nominations earlier too. The others in fray now are Milagrina Colaco and Tribune Carvalho.
In Betalbatim ward No. 3 reserved for OBC women, Leticia Maria Miranda has been declared elected unopposed. Both the aspirants Jacinta Francisca Gomes and Maria Filomena Rato who had filed their nominations earlier, could not participate in the elections now.
In ward No. 5 reserved for OBC Santana Fernandes who had filed her nomination earlier is back in the fray, while Rozer Afonso had to bow out. Other candidates in this ward are Silvia Manelina Pereira and Vincent Rosario Fernandes.
In ward No. 7 Inacio Carvalho remains in the race while Jose Pereira had to leave the field. Inacio will now be contesting against Judas Tadeu Rebello.
