MARGAO: Community celebration of Ganesh, popularly called Sarvajanik Ganesh, will be held at 26 places in an around Margao with the celebration at Audumbarnagar Davorlim being for the longest period of 21 days and will be immersed on October 3 at Peda Khareband Margao.

While sarvajanik Ganesh idols will be installed at 10 places within the jurisdiction of Fatorda Police station, they will be installed 12 places in the jurisdiction of Margao Town Police station including the one installed by the police in the district headquarters and at six places within the jurisdiction of Maina Curtorim Police Station.

Three places coming within the jurisdiction of Maina Curtorim police station are not close to the Margao town namely the idol installed at the IDC complex in Nessai and the one installed at Vagulem in Maina Curtorim and the one at Eclati that is being revived this year.

At seven places the idols will be worshiped for 11 days. These are the ones installed at Lakaki in Dicarpale, KTC bus stand, at Dattamandir in Housing Board, PHE colony Borda, Powerhouse quarters at Aquem and the most popular at Pimpalkatta in Margao.

At two places the idols will be worshipped for 9 days namely at Pandava Chapel in Aquem and the one installed by Old Market traders at Old Market Margao.

At 11 places the idols will be worshipped for 7 days being the one at Housing Board in Davorlim under Maina Curtorim Police station and at four places under Margao Town police stations being the one at Colmorod, Navelim panchayat, KRC quarters and MMC garden.

Under the Fatorda police station jurisdiction the idols will be worshipped for 7 days at 6 places namely at Siddhivinayak Temple at Housing Board, SGPDA Market, Ram Mandir at Old Market, Pajifond, Old Chowgule College and at Marlem in Borda.

The idols will be worshipped for 5 days at four places which are the one at Bhavani Devi temple at Zariwado in Davorlim, Vithal Mandir in Comba, Azad Nagar, and Shantinagar in Navelim.
