PANJIM: Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik has demanded the resignation of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar after the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) asked him to be ‘circumspect and careful in future while making (political) statements’.

“Parrikar should immediately tender his resignation from the Union Council of Ministers as he has been held guilty by the ECI for his remark on bribery in which he told the public at a meeting in Goa to accept money from whoever offers but that they should vote for BJP,” Naik said. He stated that Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi should demand his cabinet minister’s resignation.
