Shivaji Jayanthi celebrated

PONDA: The 387th birth anniversary of Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated at Farmagudi with processions and programmes on the life of the great Maratha warrior king.

PONDA: The 387th birth anniversary of Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated at Farmagudi with processions and programmes on the life of the great Maratha warrior king. 

At the official function held at Farmagudi, Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma garlanded the statue of King Shivaji at Farmagudi Fort amidst programmes on life of Shivaji, singing Povadas, songs, followed by cultural programmes.

Arjun Jadhav, a historian from Usmanabad, was the keynote speaker at the function. He said Shivaji was a great warrior and was born with great strength of doing impossible task. He first established his kingdom with the great will power and support of people and then ruled over it. 

Daulat Hawaldar, Secretary, Information and Publicity, said that it is nearly four centuries ago that Shivaji lived, yet people remember him, because he was the most accepted king among all.
