PANJIM: Drishti Group’s Drishti Marine has expanded operations into ferry services and claims it is set to offer premium services of a 40-seater luxury catamaran from the next month. 

According to a statement issued on Tuesday, Drishti Ferry has acquired two luxurious 40-seater, high-speed catamarans which will ferry commuters between designated pick-up points. “Designed to provide a smooth and steady ride, the ferries will enable passengers to hitch a ride between Panjim, Baga, Old Goa, Fort Aguada in Sinquerim and Dabolim. The two passenger ferries will travel daily,” it states.

CEO, Drishti Marine G Ravi Shankar said, “The luxurious ferries have plush seating, spacious interiors, clean bathrooms, charging points and safety belts. Air conditioned passenger lounge and waiting areas, on-board baggage assistance with free wifi, packaged snacks and beverages will be available on-board. The crew on board includes lifeguards trained to carry out rescue operations.” 

The firm stated that tickets towards ferry services can be booked online or purchased at the time of boarding. Fares for the ferry service range from Rs 100 for a ride between Old Goa and Panjim to Rs 800 for a trip between the Airport Ferry Terminal (AFT) at Baina and Panjim.

The AFT is located at Baina beach, and is approximately 5 km from the Dabolim airport. Free shuttle services will be available between the ferry terminal and the airport.

“The ferries depart and dock at an especially designated terminal in each of the jetty pick-up and drop-off points,” the press release further mentions.

In phase 1, Drishti Marine will commence operations between the AFT Vasco, Panjim and Old Goa, and Phase 2 will include Baga and Fort Aguada to commence later this year.
