“The newly launched app launched by DRAG will benefit all persons with disability. This app will help people connect which was difficult earlier and I will try to put up a proposal to the government to provide smart phones to persons with disability which shall enable them to stay connected via the newly launched ‘Voice Disability App’ by DRAG,” Sawant said, addressing the gathering on the 14th anniversary celebrations of Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG)

He said that the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016 which was enacted last year will be implemented in Goa by early 2018.

“We will try to implement Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016, by early 2018. Recently I was invited for a function where persons with disability told me that they do not get the rights they need. Also they have various other issues in government departments which need to be resolved. I have already spoken to the concerned minister and in this regard we are organising a separate meeting with various associations in November where all their issues shall be sorted out,” he said.
