PANJIM: National Students Union of India (NSUI), Nationalist Student Congress (NSC), Vidhyarti Sena Goa and AAP student’s wing have written to the Superintendent of Police demanding an inquiry into the unlawful behaviour of police constables with students of Goa University (GU) on the day of GUSC elections.

“We the students of GU, currently studying at different colleges affiliated to the Goa University and also representing various students’ organizations, do hereby bring to your notice and seek an enquiry into the unlawful behaviour by police constables of Agasaim Police Station on Monday, October 16 in the GU complex,” states the letter written by the student’s organizations.

The letter brings to light, “The sad incident of police constable manhandling students entering the administrative block of the university to approach the VC throttling and trying to choke a student, in the process of forcefully restraining the students from entering the block of the university.”

The students’ organisations have demanded that a complaint be registered and necessary action be taken against the police constables who had taken the law in their hands by their unlawful conduct.
