Congress Party held a protest at the Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex this evening with an impressive crowd in attendance and where most of the MLAs too were seen united. A delegation also presented a memorandum to the Collector condemning the Rafale jet deal and terming it a scam. Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Babu Kavlekar, former chief minister Digambar Kamat and All India Congress Committee secretary in charge of Goa Chellakumar addressed the crowd gathered to join the protest. Prominent Congressmen present included MLAs Wilfred D’Sa, Clafasio Dias, Ravi Naik, South Goa District Committee President Joe Dias and Goa Pradesh Mahila Morcha President Pratima Coutinho. The memorandum said the deal was signed only to benefit “crony” friends of the present government while causing huge loss to a government undertaking like the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
