PANJIM: While the State government has repeatedly expressed its intention to file a review petition in the Supreme Court to help re-start the mining business, the legal opinion has opined thin chances the plea would stand in the court.

Sources in the government revealed that Chief Secretary Dharmendra Sharma met Supreme Court senior lawyer Harish Salve for his expert advice over filing review petition on mining ban in Goa and the latter opined there is a little scope for review petition in Supreme Court. 

If experts do not suggest review petition, sources said ordinance is the last option with the government.

The CS will on Monday submit Salve's opinion to the Cabinet Advisory Committee for taking a further decision.
